FROM THE INTERIOR OF BAHIA TO BRAZIL: TEACHING THE CHRONICLES OF TATAH COFFEE WHAT FOR?

Abstract
This paper analyzes how the chronicles of Café (2019) can contribute to the process of fostering the citizen awareness of the student, by raising the level of vernacular literacy if worked according to the demands arising from the real learning needs of the student under the comparison of the theory of Bakhtin (2014) and Freire (2019). In this line, it has been defended a teaching that does not dissociate the Portuguese language from Brazilian Literature, which highlights the social relevance of this research for contributing to the educational area, a social asset of paramount importance in the pursuit of other fundamental human rights. Taking for granted a literature review study with qualitative data collection it was concluded that chronicle, as literature, should not be seen as "minor", being one of the genres through which it is possible to foster citizen awareness, from the perspective of powers of literature, according to the studies of Compagnon (2009).
