UNA REVISIÓN LITERARIA DEL TRATAMIENTO CON SUPRESOR HORMONAL EN NIÑOS Y ADOLESCENTES INCONGRUENTES DE GÉNERO

Resumen

Objetivo: debatir los impactos que la evidencia actual puede tener sobre el uso de bloqueantes hormonales en menores diagnosticados de Incongruencia de Género. Fuente de datos: Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre “Disforia de género” entre 1961 y 2013, compuesta por 11 revistas extraídas del repositorio digital PubMed, dos fuentes literarias y una tesis. El método de análisis adoptado fue hipotético-deductivo y la revisión sistemática se basó en el metanálisis. Síntesis de datos: se encontró de una muestra de 511 niños y adolescentes, mayores de 52 años, solo 98 (19%) persistieron con síntomas disfóricos en la edad adulta sin la administración de inhibidores hormonales, mientras que los que se basaron en terapia hormonal tuvieron un 100% tasa de persistencia. Discusión: la administración de inhibidores hormonales por GNHRa, teóricamente, puede inducir la persistencia de la incongruencia de género y sus efectos a largo plazo son desconocidos para la ciencia, ya que no existe consenso científico sobre el producto en niños y adolescentes.
