EXPLORING ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIORS IN BRAZILIAN INDUSTRIES
Main Article Content
Abstract
Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCB) play a key role in industries by contributing to the creation of a collaborative work environment. In this context, the aim of this research was to identify the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors considered most relevant by industry workers, with the goal of developing an action plan to enhance the less prominent behaviors. This research is descriptive, with a quantitative approach, conducted through a structured questionnaire made available via Google Forms. Data was collected from 1,068 workers from Brazilian industries, and the analysis was performed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), which allowed the prioritization of the most valued behaviors. The results indicate that both leadership and their subordinates empasse the importance of welcoming new colleagues into the workgroup, a behavior classified under Individually Oriented Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCB-I). Regarding Organizationally Oriented Organizational Citizenship Behaviors (OCB-O), it was found that leaders and teams value concern for the company’s image. The study also highlighted the need to foster a mutual collaboration environment, encouraging the adoption of positive behaviors, resource sharing, and improving internal communication. In light of this, the research offers theoretical, social, and managerial implications, highlighting the importance of leadership and effective Human Resource Management policies to promote OCBs within companies.
