TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION IN HEALTHCARE: CONTEMPORARY THINKING OR UTOPIA?

Abstract
In view of the current moment experienced by Brazilian and world society, it is necessary to recognize that technology increasingly influences people's lives. Among the most diverse sectors in which society is subdivided, it is increasingly evident that we are dependent on technology. Innovations, such as the emergence of new equipment and computer systems, result in major improvements for the development of society, increasing the automation and efficiency of processes. These improvements are also being experienced in healthcare, as several digital platforms and databases are already used in the performance of daily activities and procedures in hospitals and clinics. Thus, innovation in healthcare is no longer a utopia, but it is still necessary to encourage such discussions, so that new and more efficient technologies continue to be implemented in this area of knowledge, helping developing countries in particular.
