PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN MANAUS: INITIAL ELEMENTS FOR A CONTEMPORARY DEBATE

Abstract
The regular public transport operated by companies with bus fleet is a present and striking reality in Brazilian cities, having a fundamental social and economic relevance for society in general, however presenting in the current period a series of problems and an exploitation of the workforce that becomes increasingly evident with technical advances and changes in work regimes. Starting from the point of experience and the spatial dynamics of urban transportation in the city of Manaus, we will punctuate in this text some elements to start a debate about an important service in the current period.
