CORONAVÍRUS: COMO ESTÁ A CLASSE TRABALHADORA NA PANDEMIA?

Abstract

This essay emerges from reflections on the attention given to the working class in the context of a pandemic. The text has as its background the articulation of three categories: the crisis of capitalism accentuated in countries with a late economy, such as Brazil; the visible inefficiency of Brazilian state management; and the return of the Brazilian bourgeoisie to the high ranks of the bureaucratic administration of the national state. This articulation has represented losses for the working class in different areas, such as health, security, the environment and education, deepened in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Methodologically, a bibliographical review was sought, articulating texts from the human and social sciences that dealt with the current scenario, as well as texts on the notion of biopolitics to deal with differential vulnerability, a notion that will cross our arguments. In this way, we seek to demonstrate that the virus, or the consequences of it, reach the working class with more violence.
