Abstract

The change in organizational mentality over the years has been an important factor in controlling and monitoring project management, especially in the context of software development. The objective of this study was to validate the Agile Metrics Framework (AMF) through practitioners in agile project management. The research has a qualitative approach and empirical methodology, using the focus group research technique, carried out with agile project management practitioners in different organizations. The results showed that AMF is a framework for feedback and continuous improvement of the team and the organization based on agile metrics. Furthermore, the results highlighted that AMF can be applied at different levels of maturity and scale in agile projects, in addition to presenting results of adherence to agile practices such as Design Sprint, Lean Inception, Design Thinking, Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming and DevOps . As a practical contribution, this research offers insights into the use of agile practices and effective leadership in projects to improve the application of agile metrics in organizations. Regarding academic contributions, this research enriches academic knowledge on topics about leadership in agile projects, about the use of agile tools such as Kanban and DevOps. Finally, limitations and future work were identified with the aim of exploring implementation costs and validating the effectiveness of AMF in different organizations.
