Abstract

This study aims to investigate the relationship between personality traits and financial literacy, as well as examining the impact of emotional intelligence on the level of financial literacy among students from a public federal university in the state of Pará. The methodology used to achieve the proposed objectives involved tests of correlation analyses and multiple regressions. Among the results highlighted are that personality traits, emotional intelligence, and sociodemographic characteristics influence the dimensions of financial literacy and its overall level in distinct ways. Among the main conclusions of the study, it was observed that variables such as gender, income, age, social emotional intelligence, conscientiousness, agreeableness, and extroversion have a significant impact on the financial literacy levels of the participants.
