“WHAT WILL IT BE, WHAT WILL IT BE?” PRECARIZATION, UBERIZATION AND THE FUTURE OF WORK

Abstract

This paper aimed to discuss the working conditions of app drivers, emphasizing the uber worker, its characteristics, conditions and perspectives on the future of work. At the same time, it sought to establish a dialogue with labor studies, connecting the concepts of precarization and uberization, bursting into a contribution to the debates about the future of work. Methodologically, we resorted to bibliographic research, understood as that which has os its main source published materials (books, magazines, articles, among others) and the case study, intended to investigate certain phenomena in a specific social group. It was possible to conclude that the pandemic has corroborated to a greater intensification of work and intensified its conditions, since it demanded a significant increase in work hours and a deliberate exposure to the virus. The effect of this is a growing dissatisfaction on the part of these workers, who constantly sought ways out of this relationship or organize themselves in a collective way to fight for more rights.
