Abstract

This essay presents a reflective discussion about the role of current information technologies, represented by WhatsApp and Uber applications, based on the main considerations of the most influential thinkers in the field of Science, Technology and Society. It seeks to establish a dialogue between these technologies and what defines technological determinism and social determinism.
