Abstract

This study aims to disseminate the characteristics of international publications involving the theme of technostress and coping over a period of 20 years (2003-2022). The research was carried out in the Web of Science database. To this end, bibliometric research was carried out with the aim of detecting essential aspects of academic publications; as well as appreciating and comparing the scientific production of the authors who published the most on the topic, versus the most cited articles in the same period, among other indicators. The results revealed 86 publications, all written in English, the majority in article format, in addition to an exponential growth in research in 2022. The thematic area that appeared the most was Computer Science Information Systems. As for the most relevant journal, Computers in Human Behavior was found, with more articles among the 86 found, as well as among the 10 most cited. Germany was the prominent country, having the largest number of published studies, as well as encompassing the researcher (Tim Weitzel) and the University (Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg) that published the most in the period. Another finding was that of the 10 most cited publications, only 3 are from authors who published the most in the period. It is noteworthy that the number of publications is relatively small, however, it covers researchers from different institutions and countries, revealing the recent interest in the topic.
