LESSONS FROM LIVIA DE OLIVEIRA IN ORDER TO GEOGRAPH THE WORLD

Abstract
This paper, written as an essay, is a tribute to Livia de Oliveira, as it aims to share a sample of her legacy. It is about demonstrating how her ideas of living in the world as a geographer is a possible, plural and sensitive way. The writing is in the first person, as its methodology is the affective memory of the moments lived with Livia during and after the period in which I was guiding her. This essay is presented through three questions: (I) Why honor her?; (II) What is honored?; and (III) How do I aim to honor her legacy? The last question is also the final section of the text, in which short- and long-term expectations are recorded on how to keep his legacy alive.
