ANALYSIS OF INNOVATIVE BEHAVIOR IN THE CONTEXT OF INDUSTRY 4.0
Main Article Content
Abstract
Innovative behavior is essential in Industry 4.0, as it enables the creation of new products and services, the formulation of more efficient processes, and the implementation of continuous improvements. The adoption of advanced technologies is only the first step; it is crucial that employees develop an innovative mindset and are willing to experiment and seek creative solutions to industry challenges. In this context, this article aimed to analyze the level of innovative behavior among employees in an Industry 4.0 setting. To achieve this, a survey was conducted with 476 employees from a company in the metal-mechanical sector, located in the Northwest region of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The CI-CI4.0 scale was applied, which is used to measure innovative behavior in the Industry 4.0 context. This scale comprises six dimensions that assess the presence of such behavior. The results indicated that both individual factors, such as creativity and the search for new ideas, and organizational factors, such as leadership support for innovation, organizational support, work environment, and organizational changes, need to be improved and encouraged within the analyzed company. These improvements are essential to enhance levels of innovative behavior, driving innovation across various areas. It is concluded that innovative behavior in Industry 4.0 depends on both individual and organizational factors, requiring greater investment in structural support.
