Abstract

Spiritual intelligence (SI), psychological capital (PC) and Job Crafting (JC) are topics studied in the organizational area. The theoretical approaches to these constructs have a complementary relationship in the sense of using aligned personal resources in the search for meaning and purpose in working life. Taking this perspective into account, this study aims to verify the influence of SI, PC and JC on worker behavior. To this end, descriptive, quantitative research was developed to test the empirical model hypothesized based on the theoretical relationships between these three variables. The spiritual intelligence leader version, positive psychological capital and job crafting scales were used. Descriptive statistics, correlation and Analysis of Variance were analyzed to test the model. The sample was composed of hospital workers from Brazil and Portugal, with n=434 workers (212 Brazilians and 222 Portuguese). It was observed that psychological capital has a mediating action in the relationship between the leader's spiritual intelligence and the occurrence of Job Crafting of team work, confirming the tested theoretical model. This article contributes to addressing the topic of spiritual intelligence and Job crafting, which are still little explored in the Brazilian context, as well as pointing out the theoretical relationships between them, as well as demonstrating the positive relevance of these factors and their influence on workers' work performance of health in the two countries researched.
