METHOD AND PRACTICE: THE HISTORY AND CURRENT SPECIFICITY OF ANCIENT HISTORIOGRAPHY

Abstract
This article aims to analyze the specificities of the writing of the history of the ancient Mediterranean, mobilizing concepts and narrative devices from different temporalities, going from antiquity to contemporary times. In this sense, for this endeavor, we will mobilize theoretical frameworks already consolidated by classic authors such as Croce (1964), Ankersmit (1988), Loraux (1992) and Ranke (2010), and also by more current historians such as Guarinello (2003), Vlassopoulos (2007) and Cabanes (2009). In addition, taking as a guide the peculiarities intrinsic to the temporal distancing of Antiquity, we will also propose discussions about the historical time itself, starting from the impact of the present time in the act of historiographical narrative.
