Resumo

Este ensaio busca elucidar o cenário político da Guyana pré-eleições, destacando atores internos e externos, bem como seus respectivos interesses. Para tal fim, utilizou-se a técnica de análise dividida em cenário doméstico e internacional, fundamentando-se em fontes primárias, como documentos governamentais e bases de dados institucionais, e secundárias, caracterizadas por pesquisas acadêmicas e matérias jornalísticas. Conclui-se que as eleições consistem em um ponto de inflexão para o desenvolvimento da Guyana a partir da indústria do petróleo.
